Eric W. Janssen, M.D.
Dr. Janssen is a specialist in sports medicine whose interest
in the specialty came from his long history as a high
school and collegiate athlete. He graduated from Marshall
University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia
in 1986. He completed his residency at Mount Carmel Medical
Center in Columbus, Ohio. In 1992, he completed a sports
medicine fellowship at Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic in
Columbus, Georgia. He is Board Certified and has held
numerous professional appointments, including his current
position as a Clinical Instructor at UAB. Dr. Janssen
has published several articles on ACL reconstruction techniques
and is currently conducting research on arthroscopic labral
and rotator cuff repairs of the shoulder. Dr. Janssen
is currently performing the latest surgical techniques
in cartilage transplantation. Dr. Janssen is on the Board
of Directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in
North Alabama and he is also a board member of the Huntsville/Madison
County Chamber of Commerce.
