Sports Medicine
SportsMed was the first orthopaedic group in the North
Alabama region to offer orthopaedists trained in the sub-specialty
of sports medicine. It is now the largest practice in the
area dedicated to providing quality care to athletes. Our
skilled physicians remain on the forefront of the specialty,
performing highly technical procedures such as arthroscopic
repair and reconstruction of the knee ligaments, arthroscopic
repair of labral and rotator cuff tears of the shoulder,
and articular cartilage and meniscal transplantation. Several
current research projects serve to continually enhance physician
knowledge and technique.
SportsMed serves as sports medicine consultants and practitioners
for many professional, amateur, college, high school and
middle school athletic organizations. Among these are the
Huntsville Stars, the UAH Chargers, and leagues and organizations
such as soccer, gymnastics, swimming, dance and more.
